with Safety Solutions On-Site, a multi-faceted EHS consulting firm with
offices in Kansas City, Dallas and (coming soon!) Chicago. Brian has nearly
twenty years of safety experience in OSHA compliance and risk
management for printing and publishing, manufacturing and construction
companies. His previous position with PIA MidAmerica was Regulatory
Manager of PIA MidAmerica's Heartland Region, where he functioned as the
safety director for twelve PrintGuard Consortium members and taught the
nation’s only OSHA-developed 10-Hour Class for General Industry specific
to the graphic communications sector. He is the former Corporate Safety
Coordinator for Purolator Products Company based in Tulsa, Oklahoma and
has worked extensively in the commercial insurance industry serving a wide
variety of clients. Prior to joining PIA, Brian worked for two years as a private
Safety Consultant in the Kansas City area. He possesses a Bachelor’s
Degree in Safety Management from Central Missouri State University and is
a Certified Missouri Safety Consultant.
When he’s not serving PrintGuard customers, Brian is working in his second
career: Captain Rutherford is Operations Officer for A-10 Aircraft
Maintenance for the 442d Maintenance Squadron at Whiteman Air Force
Base, Missouri. He has been a member of the U.S. Air Force Reserve since
1986 and his previous positions have included a brief stint as Executive
Officer, five years as an Aircraft Structural Repair Specialist and seven years
as a Ground Safety Technician. He spent 2003 deployed as Maintenance
Officer-In-Charge at Kirkuk Air Base, Iraq while participating in Operation
Iraqi Freedom.
